LISA GILES
Registered Psychotherapist M.A., RP, CCC, CC-PMH

Lisa (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with
the CCPA. She holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from McMaster University.

Lisa has been providing compassionate and evidence-based counselling support to individuals since 2015. She believes that everyone is capable of finding joy and meaning in their lives, and strives to work collaboratively with clients using their strengths to move towards their goals. Lisa is a certified perinatal mental health provider, recognizing the tremendous impact of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period on parents. She works with mothers, fathers, and non-binary parents to manage perinatal mental health concerns including low mood, anxiety, and trauma, and helps them find health, well-being, and meaning in parenthood.

Lisa also works with people outside of the perinatal period who are struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, trauma, challenging relationships, and more. She helps clients to overcome challenges, find purpose, and form habits to support their mental health. She integrates aspects of evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches into her work, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. Lisa practices with a trauma-informed lens and aims to provide inclusive care to all.

Lisa also works with couples who are facing challenges or strains in their relationship, particularly during pregnancy and early parenthood. She supports couples in identifying recurring patterns that cause disconnection, re-establishing warmth and intimacy, and making practical changes to improve relationship functioning. Lisa has completed advanced training at the University of Guelph in couple therapy, and integrates evidence-based frameworks into her practice including Emotionally-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. She is inclusive and welcoming of relationships of all types, including LGBTQ+ couples and non-monogamous relationships. Lisa believes in the power of relationship therapy in helping partners feel understood, loved, and connected again.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys being active outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She is a proud mom of two.
