Osteopathic Manual Therapist
Alexandra (she/her) is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (M.OMsc). She graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton in 2019 and is a member in good standing with the Ontario Osteopathic Association.
What initially drew her to this profession was its holistic approach towards healing. With a background of 15 years in yoga instruction and a keen interest in nutrition, exercise, meditation, and healthy living, Alexandra believes that the body has the ability to self heal and self regulate if provided with the proper environment. Osteopathic treatments are geared towards achieving homeostasis by removing any restrictions in movement, focusing on structural alignment of the spine and circulation of the blood while balancing the nervous system. She has experience treating male and female athletes, babies, new mothers, teens, pregnant people, and seniors.
Alexandra holds a B.A in Sociology and Psychology from The University of Western Ontario, is certified in Thai Massage Therapy, a certified Bikram Yoga Instructor and is currently studying to become a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). From 2010-2016 she owned and operated a hot yoga studio and was voted Best Yoga Studio and Instructor in Hamilton’s View magazine.
In her spare time she enjoys various forms of exercise, world travel, spending time with friends, her dog and reading about the mind body connection: How our emotions and thought patterns play a role in our health.
