Let's be honest about your health class sex education.

You got a banana and a condom. Maybe a diagram of reproductive organs labeled in clinical terms you immediately forgot. Definitely a lecture about STIs designed to scare you into abstinence. And then they sent you out into the world with approximately zero useful information about what happens when your body doesn't cooperate with what you thought sex was supposed to feel like.
Fast forward to adulthood. You're Googling "why does sex hurt" at 2 AM. You're wondering if you're broken. You're too embarrassed to ask your doctor. You've tried every position, every lubricant, every "just relax" suggestion from well-meaning friends. Nothing changes.
Here's what nobody told you: 75% of women experience painful sex at some point in their lives. Three out of four people. This isn't rare. This isn't "just you." This is a massive gap in healthcare education that leaves people suffering in silence because they don't know help exists.
We're done with that silence.
Introducing: Monthly Educational Meetups at Blueberry Therapy
Starting this month, we're launching a free monthly educational series covering all the topics the school system failed to teach. No appointment needed. No sales pitch. No judgment.
Just real, evidence-based information delivered by pelvic health professionals who specialize in the stuff nobody wants to talk about but everyone needs to know.
Think of it as the health class you deserved - taught by people who actually understand bodies, believe your symptoms, and won't make you feel weird for asking questions.
First Topic: Pain-Free Sex Workshop Thursday, February 26th
5-7pm The Nest at Blueberry Therapy
14 Cross St. Dundas
We're starting with painful sex because it's February, Valentine's Day just happened, and if one more person gets told to "just use more lube and relax," we're going to lose it.
Here's What You'll Actually Learn:
Pain with sex is common but not normal. Common means lots of people experience it. Normal means you have to accept it. You don't. There are legitimate reasons for sexual pain - everything from pelvic floor muscle tension to hormonal changes to nerve sensitivity - and most of them are treatable when addressed properly.
Your anatomy is more similar than you think. ALL genders have the exact same amount of erectile tissue. It's just distributed differently. Understanding how blood flow, nerve pathways, and tissue response actually work changes how you approach sexual health. Your health class definitely didn't cover this part.

Good sex isn't just about orgasms. It's about comfort, communication, pleasure, and knowing when pain is signaling a problem worth addressing. If sex consistently hurts, that's your body sending a clear message that something needs attention. Good sex doesn't need to include penetration if this is not comfortable or possible.
"Just relax" isn't a treatment plan. When healthcare providers dismiss painful sex with unhelpful advice, people stop seeking help. You deserve actual assessment, real explanations, and evidence-based solutions.
What This Workshop Looks Like
Drop in anytime between 5-7pm. This is a come-and-go format - stay for 10 minutes or the full 2 hours depending on your schedule and comfort level.
You'll meet our multidisciplinary team (pelvic floor physiotherapists, naturopath, massage therapists, and more), see therapeutic products in person (vibrators, dilators, medical-grade lubricants), ask questions in a judgment-free space, and leave with actual information you can use.
This isn't a lecture. It's not a product demo. It's not a sneaky sales funnel. It's healthcare education the way it should exist - accessible, accurate, and honest.
Bonus: Attendees get 10% off for any future shop purchases. If you've been curious about trying a vibrator for therapeutic reasons or want to see dilator options in person, this is your chance to explore without pressure.
Why We're Doing This
Every single day, we see clients who suffered for years before seeking help. Not because they didn't want help, but because they didn't know pelvic floor physiotherapy existed. They didn't realize painful sex was treatable. They thought their only options were "deal with it" or avoid intimacy altogether.
The education system failed to prepare people for real-world bodies. Healthcare often dismisses symptoms as "normal aging" or "just part of being a woman." Google provides conflicting information that leaves you more confused than when you started.
We're filling that gap.
These meetups are our way of saying: You deserve access to accurate information about your body. You deserve healthcare providers who listen. You deserve to know that help exists and what that help actually looks like.
Coming Soon: More Topics Nobody Taught You
Pain-Free Sex is just the beginning. Future meetups will cover:
Period pain and menstrual health
Pelvic organ prolapse (what it is and what to do about it)
Pre/perinatal and Postpartum recovery
Menopause and pelvic health changes
Mens Pelvic health
We're building a monthly series that covers the full spectrum of pelvic health topics - everything from first periods to postmenopausal changes and every stage in between.

This Is The Sex Education You Deserved Years Ago
Better late than never.
Your body isn't broken. You're not being dramatic. Pain with sex is your body communicating that something needs attention - and there are professionals who specialize in figuring out exactly what that something is.
This workshop won't solve every problem in 2 hours, but it will give you the foundation of knowledge you need to advocate for yourself, understand your options, and know where to start.
You deserve healthcare education that actually educates. You deserve professionals who believe you. You deserve to know that pain-free, pleasurable sex is possible for most people when the right issues are identified and addressed.
We're here to provide that education.
See you February 26th.
Or just show up - we'll be ready either way.
P.S. If you can't make this workshop, don't worry. We're running these monthly, and we'll cover different topics each time. Follow us on Instagram @blueberrytherapypelvichealth to stay updated on upcoming meetup topics.
