NURSE PRACTITIONER / MIDLIFE & MENOPAUSE CARE
Times Have Changed, You Don’t Have to “Tough it Out”!

A woman’s life should improve with age, yet far too many of us suffer in silence when things begin to change within our body as we approach menopause. It’s often an unspoken transition that women go through with little understanding or support. Not so long ago, menopause was a word that you did not say out loud in public, a taboo subject. Misinformation resulted in mystery and confusion for decades.

Menopause is a perfectly natural part of a woman’s life cycle, but being well means feeling well, and our wellness is affected when hormone changes result in poor sleep, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, weight gain, decreased libido, and effects on mood. Many of these symptoms can be treated, and sometimes, hormone therapy is the best treatment option. Knowledge and enlightenment have the power to transform menopause into a positive life changing experience for every woman and those around them

Through perimenopause and menopause, women will be faced with choices that will affect their health and well being for the rest of their lives.
It is important to be familiar and understand alternative and conventional options. When you have complete and accurate information you can be confident that you are making the right decision for you. It’s easy to find information about menopause, and very common to receive advice from well-meaning friends and health care providers, but it is impossible to really understand the issues as they relate specifically to you over coffee with a friend, or even in a typical 15 minute appointment with a general practitioner. Build your midlife team for your best possible life.
